VCN's mission is: 'To help people keep their voices healthy and to communicate effectively'.

  • Our voice is important to us all.
  • 35% of the working population use their voice as one of their main means of performing their job every day.
  • We provide workshops, coaching and seminars to professional voice user organisations and conferences, as well as to individuals. 
  • Professional Voice Users include Teaching Staff in Education (Teachers, Support Staff, CPD Leaders and Head Teachers, and in particluar those in teacher training on ITT, PGCE, GTP, SCITT, Teach First and NQT induction programmes), Employees and Trainers in Contact and Call Centres, Health Care & Occupational Health Advisors, the Media, and other professions - Lawyers, Preachers, Business Leaders and Presenters.
  • Our Voice Workshops are recognised by the Training and Development Agency for Teachers (TDA) and we have long term, exclusive, training provider contracts with the Association of Teachers + Lecturers (ATL), the Department of Works and Pensions (DWP) (Call Centres) and the BBC.
  • Our publication, 'More Care for Your Voice' is recommended by the Health and Safety Commission's School Education Advisory Commitee (SEAC)
  • Most members are Speech & Language Therapists (SLTs) and Voice Teachers, but membership is open to all who are interested in the speaking voice.
